I finally found another stone that’s worthy to sit next to Larimar! This winning combination of small Larimar nuggets and Apatite rounds combines with a new delicate, faceted Hill Tribe Silver bead that I’ve found that I’ve used as a charming spacer bead between these two great gemstones. This unique clasp design is also Hill Tribe Silver. Larimar --It’s no wonder that they call it the Jewel of the Caribbean! Originally Larimar was thought to be a water stone because it was found on the beach near the water. It was later traced back up a mountain to it's original source. This amazing stone is found on a single square kilometer of land in the Dominican Republic. The available quantity in the mines is unknown, which makes the supply of Larimar uncertain in the long run and highly collectible. It is actually a volcanic material and some specimens have coral embedded within. Because it is volcanic material, it is very hard and therefore difficult to cut or drill into beads, thus the high price. To look upon Larimar is to see the sunlit seas of the Caribbean emulated in a swirling palette of blues and greens. Larimar is one of the spiritual stones that radiates love and peace and promotes tranquility. It effortlessly induces a deeply meditative state and naturally raises consciousness and harmonizes body and soul to new vibrations. Spiritually, it is empowering, dissolving boundaries that constrain the spiritual self, and guide the soul onto its true pathway in life.
