Sunrise Necklace
Earthy, organic and just plain fun! Hanging from a hand cut and forged copper circle is a lovely black Hana Beach stone and an enchanting little Hill Tribe Silver spiral charm. Since ancient times the spiral design has been the symbol of the goddess, the womb, fertility, continual change, and the evolution of the universe. Both pieces dangle gently within the copper circle and hang from black Greek leather, known for it’s smooth finish, consistent color and extra soft & supple texture from the very first time it’s worn. This piece ends with a sterling silver lobster clasp. The second group of pictures shows the necklace on rust brown Greek leather with a beautiful piece of deep green beach glass. On top rests a tiny sterling silver Sea Turtle charm, the signature symbol for Ocean Dreamer’s Jewelry. Silver can be used as a mirror to the soul and help you see yourself from the outside without judgement. It is used often with gemstones because it’s able to both attract and retain those qualities that are emitted by the stone and provides a steadying influence for the jewel. Hill Tribe silver is pure, fine silver (.999) produced under fair trade regulations by a group of Karen Hill Tribe villagers in Northern Thailand. Copper is an excellent energy conductor and sends and amplifies thoughts. It can open the heart center and thereby create total awareness of the self and generate a capacity for tremendous psycho-spiritual self-confidence and growth. Physiologically it is believed that Copper helps all forms of rheumatism, arthritis, and disorders of the intestinal tract. Copper also strengthens the Pineal and Pituitary glands and increases flexibility of bone tissue such as ligaments, cartilages, and tendons. This can aid in the prevention of injury for those who are athletes. Energetically speaking, Copper is highly conductive and also activates the body’s electro-magnetic properties and sends and amplifies thoughts. Copper’s conductive energies are at the heart of it’s power, both physically and spiritually. Because this crystal metal doesn’t hold a charge, but instead, sends or conducts it on, it is a very useful for projecting and directing energy and healing work. My Hana Beach stones are gathered from the Black Sand Beach in Hana, Maui. Their origins are volanic lava rock tumbled smooth by the wonderful ocean waves and then tossed back onto the beach. There has been NO additional tumbling....they come to you as the ocean created them and are a bit rustic in nature. I’ve carefully drilled the stones and then waxed them to give them a semi-gloss finish. The energy and spirit in Hana is profound and almost meditative and this fragile oasis of true Hawaiian culture is a joy to visit each year. Beach or Sea Glass is natural found glass that has been tumbled by shifting sands and the tumbling ocean waves and tossed back up onto the beach to be discovered by those patient enough to hunt for it. It resembles precious gems with its frosted surface and rounded edges and stunning colors. Important features are both the colors of the glass (as some are more rare) and the amount of total wear and rounding of its surface. Discovered in the shifting tides these well-worn glass pieces can take several decades to develop the soft round edges and at least 50 to 100 years for a thick piece to become the treasure we hunt for. The use of Sea Glass in jewelry has increased as theses lovely gems become more scarce. I’ve found it almost a meditation to sit in one place as the sun warms my back and the scent of the clean ocean air soothes my soul….watching as each wave brings me new treasures to discover. Each Beach Stone and piece of Beach Glass will be different and unique. You can request a particular length, color of leather and stone or glass although some of the colors of Sea Glass I have in limited amounts. Length--16 inches with 1 1/2 inch drop on pendant. A 2-inch extender chain may be added below.
