This glowing necklace of sculpted green Keishi Pearls with a focal Blister Pearl pendant is a graceful piece of nature’s art. On top of the pendant is a tiny faceted Garnet stone. The lobster clasp is sterling silver. Keishi pearls are actually bi-products of the culturing process. Although unintentional, they are still cultured pearls as they have been induced. Keishi form when epithelial cells break away from the mantle tissue implanted in the mollusks mantle or oyster’s gonad and form new pearl sacs. Nacre is then secreted around these sacs and a pearl is produced. These pearl sacs are free of a round nucleus and a keish pearl is formed. The irregular organic shape and stunning luster and luminescence has appealed to the masses and Keishi pearls have become increasingly popular. Blister pearls are formed on the inside of the Mother of Pearl shell and again have a wonderfully organic appearance. I’ve shown pictures of both sides of this splendid pendant.
