These colorful Kazuri ceramic beads are created by African women in a workshop located at the base of the Ngong Hills in Kenya from Mt. Kenya clay.  What began as a social cause to help a few women in Kenya has grown into an entire jewelry business, employing more than 80 women and helping countless local families escape poverty. Each ceramic bead is carefully polished, fired, painted and polished again. The result is Kazuri, which means small and beautiful in Swahili. What amazingly beautiful beads and an opportunity for each of us to make a difference on the planet. Length--18 1/2 inches.
